What I feel like God is teaching me right now!

So this post may bore you and may make no sense to you. But I feel better when I write about my situation and what is going on. I have been listening to the song "While I'm Waiting" right now. I feel like it is my life song right now. I feel like God is trying to get me to the point where I wait and TRUST Him totally. It is easy to praise God and say how great He is when things are going great, but when things get hard then it is a little harder to believe He is good ALL the time. I feel like God is trying to teach me how to trust in Him and not waver in my faith during this time. To continually and faithfully praise Him even when life is hard. To love Him ALL the time and trust in Him all the time. And I have failed a few times during this trial. But God IS good and we WILL prevail. And we WILL bring our son home!

I totally get how that song ministers to you. Someday you will look back and see how that song carried you through this time, and of course, God too! When we went through our miscarriages between our 2 girls, "Praise you in this storm" by Casting Crowns and "Never Alone" by Barlow Girl were the songs that really ministered to us. Now when I hear those words sung, I am reminded of God's guidance and how he is always there, even using song to encourage us in difficult times.
Praying for you and Joe and your little Ethiopian Prince.

  3. That is a great song! I have definitely failed, too in this crazy wait. I can believe that the needed letter is still missing. My wait to travel is because things aren't ready yet in Ethiopia. I'm getting better at waiting and trusting, but some days are just HARD!!!

  4. Amen! And sister, no one is "bored" with hearing your heart! The reason we follow this blog is to come along side you and your family in the journey. Some of us may not be able to physically give you a big hug, but we can pray! I have loved reading your posts and staying connected with you through our parallel journeys. Thanks for sharing!

  6. Thanks for posting update, Ali! I continue to stand with you and believe for breakthrough and for your Prince! God's been teaching me about waiting too ... not my favorite teaching, but there's something He wants me to grasp! Love you all! Sue
